New Unibilt Owner Feels Confident About Future for Modular Home Industry

For almost 50 years, Unibilt has been run by the Scholz family. But on January 1, 2018, Greg Barney, vice president of business development for the company, took the helm. Previous owners, Sharon and Doug Scholz are planning on enjoying retirement but confident that the company is in good hands.

 

Barney, a University of Dayton graduate, worked as an accountant for several years before shifting into residential development. Although demand for new housing is growing, it's difficult to find qualified trades people. Barney feels that this deficit of qualified trades people is forcing a new look at how homes are built. He is optimistic that since modular building is faster and more efficient it will definetely become more prominent and anticipates on hiring at least a dozen more employees before 2019.
